Lip Love: essence Lipliner in Wish Me A Rose

CALL ME LATE TO THE GAME, BUT WHATEVER!

After so much hype about essence's lip-liner in In The Nude, I've decided to look into it during Priceline's 40% sale which happened last Tuesday/Wednesday.

Sadly, the shade was already gone before I even hit up Priceline.. meep. So I picked up Wish Me A Rose instead, and OH MY GOD! Seriously one of the best buys. I'm SO in love with this lip colour right now.

It looks like an average dusty rose on the outside, but the shade pops against my skin so much. I love it!

I can't exactly describe the colour, but see for yourself!

The formula is extremely creamy, and gets even creamier with this Sydney heat. My advice is to store this in the fridge until a few minutes before usage or sharpening. It'll be way too creamy in this 30+ degrees heat, y'know?

The lasting power isn't bad for its price ($2.00/6 shades). It lasts quite a while before I've to retouch, about 5 hours. The product is still there, but because the shade is so light [and doesn't stain], a slight retouch is needed after a few hours + after food/snacks.

OVERALL, lovely shade, beautiful price (c'mon, it's $2 y'all!), just plain.. awesome! I'm seriously looking forward to try out the other shades... if my Priceline decides to ever restock these.. (¬д¬。)

Have you tried ANY essence lip liners?
Do you own the highly-raved In The Nude from this range?

Mani-Monday: Date in the Moonlight

If you follow me on Insta, you would've known that I've spring-cleaned my nail stash. A total count of 286 nail polishes (yes, I am a freak).

So I've picked out three full (and big) jars of lacquers and placed them by the side of my bed, swearing to wear one every week so I can blog about them, then pass them onto friends.

Date In The Moonlight by essence ($3.25) was my third pick out of the jar.

Doesn't look too interesting in the bottle, eh? Looks dull and boring.

Very beautiful dark navy blue though, with slight blue shimmers. A bit hard to see the shimmers if you're not close up, but I still really like it! Will keep this one back in my collection. I can definitely see myself wearing it again sometime in the colder months (trying to be all season-trendy n' shiz = me).

Formula was smooth and pigmented. I've always loved essence's big, fat, rounded-tip brushes too. Offers a really quick and precise application for my big nails, the rounded corner hugs my cuticles P-E-R-F-E-C-T-L-Y! Peeps with smaller nails will hate these brushes though..

What lacquer are you rockin' today?

Handbag Declutter: October 2014

WOO. Another handbag declutter post. Last post was posted a few months ago. I only remembered about these posts, because I realised my schoolbag was getting heavier and heavier! (。•́︿•̀。)

Needed to be cleared!

1 & 2. INTER-COLOR Lip Liners
Yeah, I use lip liners on the go. These two were from Vietnam, but can be found on eBay for less than $1. Doesn't last that long, but works as a base or solo. Cute Pink is really perfect for Spring, Dark Pink is okay. I thought it was a berry-coloured, but nop!

3. Face Of Australia Glossy Lip Crayon in Pecan Pie*
This looks like an ugly brown, but it's a really good MLBB colour for one of those days where you just want to tone down from all the pinks and corals.

Pecan Pie, Fandango, Cute Pink, Dark Pink

4. Australis Colour Inject Lip Gloss in Fandango
I love this product! Somewhat sheer, but the formula is thin and close to non-sticky! This shade was not made with opacity though! Gives me nice, juicy-lookin' tinted red lips. Love!

5. Face Of Australia Lasting Looks Lipstick in Coral On*
I usually use this as a dab. Just a really lovely coral colour.

Coral On, Tangerine Queen

6. Face Of Australia Lip Paint in Tangerine Queen*
Posted about these in depth here. On days that I want glossy, orange lips (basically, the whole of last week), this is what I run to!

7. essence Lipstick in Colour Crush
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. I hate the formula of these, I don't know why it's in my bag. They remind me a lot of NYX Round Lipsticks -- pigmented and smooth, but not creamy and glides everywhere. I really need to get down to swatching these though. Urgh.

Colour Crush, Miss Behave

8. Models Prefer Infinite Colour Lipstick in Miss Behave
I don't know why no one has really looked into these. These are AMAZING. They last long (a tad drying after a few hours), pigmented, creamy and cheap. Why guys, why?!

And of course, the two lip balms -- Burt's Bees* and Blistex Lip Conditioner. Nothing too fancy, just some regular lip balms. One for the handbag, one for the schoolbag.

Have you tried any of these lipsticks?!

Ah, now that I've cleared em... My bags will be much lighter! Yay!
But that also means.. made room for the new clutter..

Priceline 40% OFF Haul + [INT] GIVEAWAY!

It's a late, late haul, I know. But nay, I did not go all-out-hoarder like most other beauty fanatics! Besides the fact that I barely had any moola on hand, it was also because I've finally came down to the conclusion that I have soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much to finish off. Urgh.

Just the idea of that, stresses me out!

So for this time's 40% off sale (I was in Melbourne), I've only picked up a handful of things.

Da-da-dum-dum!

BE lipstick ($1.80/$3 RRP)
Not that I needed another pink lippy, but hey! They'd never have sales on these, and it was only $1.80! Yap, that's my justification.

Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner ($8.37/$13.95 RRP)
Baddest eyeliner out there (in a good way), this one! Super black, long-lasting, easy to use, doesn't dry out after a few uses AND it's less than $10 after the sale! Mine was running out so this was a necessity.

Australis Velourlips ($5.97/$9.95 RRP)
Been lusting over these for yonks now... Not gonna find a sale better than these, so.. Yap. I reached for the shades that's not too familiar in my collection -- Rio-d & Ho-chee-min. Funky, bright coral and a light, light pink!

essence Lip Liner in Wish Me a Rose ($1.20/$2 RRP)
Posted about this here. Beautiful shade, and formula is extremely creamy.

OK. Important pieces that were "must-haves". THESE:

These Models Prefer packs ($12/$20 RRP) are as is. I've purchased one to split to my group of friends as stocking stuffers, and the OTHER one is for YOU!

Well, not for every one of you'se (sorry, I wish I could), but for the one who wins this giveaway!

Simple and easy-af giveaway. I was thinking of hosting it on Instagram, but not everyone follows me there and/or uses Instagram, so here's it!

Good luck folks!

Drugstore Beauty Launches for Australia -- April 2014

Hey guys! I'm late again :(

Sorry, this first week of April is actually when assessments are due, and tests begin for two of the language classes I'm taking. Yosh, Chinese and Japanese baby!

I'm still on to my FOA Screen Siren swatch post, please be patient! I appreciate it very muchies :P

~

Manicare Facial Cleansing Brush ($11.95)
I've received this in my mail box right after publishing last month's launch post... >_<
This brush, however, is supposed to gentle exfoliate the skin whilst effectively removing embedded impurities that a make-up pad or cotton wool can't get to. Described to be suitable for all skin types. Deep cleanses when used in conjunction with your daily cleanser. It's like a toothbrush for your face!!

Available at Priceline and selected pharmacies only.

Nivea Q10 Plus CC Cream ($19.55/1 shade)
Half skincare, half cosmetics... kinda. A multi-tasking moisturiser (moisturiser?!??!) that provides colour correction and Q10 anti-wrinkle properties in one simple step. Sounds alot like a tinted moisturiser to me... Eep. Has anyone tried?

Innoxa Skin Perfecting BB Powder 5 in 1 ($26.95/2 shades)
Described be a lightweight multi-tasking powder, it is supposed to help:
  • Improve the skin's texture
  • Minimise skin imperfections
  • Reduce the appearance of fine lines & pores
  • Absorb excess oil
  • Correct the skin tone
  • Calm & sooth
Fragrance free, with a fancy anti-ageing formula.

Revlon ColourBurst Balm Stain/Matte Balm/Lacquer Balm
Okay, I'm sure you've heard a TONNE about these. Especially with the BOGO offer at Priceline which ended recently.
  • Balm Stains: Offers a lightweight flush of colour, comfortable and moisturising, and has a slight peppermint fragrance.
  • Matte Balms: Offers a medium-buildable colour payoff with a true matte finish. Also contains peppermint fragrance. Available in 10 shades.
  • Lacquer Balms: Medium-buildable colour payoff with a high shine finish. Also contains peppermint fragrance. Available in 10 shades.

I haven't tried these, but I've swatched them in store. I'm actually not too interested in any other ranges besides the Matte Balm range. I felt like the Lacquer Balm range was really sheer though, and that the Balm Stain range didn't really excite me. I do wonder if it actually stains though, or does it only provide the "stained-look", hence why they're described to provide a "light-weight flush of colour".

Face Of Australia High Definition Primer ($13.95)
I know they've always had their 4-in-1 base primer, but here's one that's "specially formulated to help make-up glide on easily". Has a lightweight formula, described to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and large pores, and is suitable for sensitive skin.

NATIO

  • Complexion Perfection Foundation Sponge ($5.95) -- An application sponge which is designed for fast and flawless foundation application.
  • Tinted Lip Balms ($4.95) -- Aww!! These look so cute! They are a limited edition collection. Buttery lip balms that delivers a low-sheen colour with high moisture.

NP Set Eye Slicks ($14/3 shades)
A creamy eyeshadow with a cream-to-powder formula that's described to "last without creasing".

PHYSICIANS FORMULA
Eek... Some new launches by Physician Formula. Urghhhhhh, Why do I feel like they release such similar sets of products every 2-3 months, but in different packaging? The products don't seem to make a hit, and they are bloody pricey.

  • Shimmer Strips All-in-1 Custom Nude Palette for Face & Eyes ($24.95)
  • Bronze Booster Glow-Boosting Airbrushing Bronzing Veil - Deluxe Edition ($29.95)

L'Oreal Paris Nude Magique Eau De Teint ($24.95/6 shades)
I'm sure you guys have seen these in store! I think it may have been released last month... This foundation features a lightweight formula, and offers a "nude velvet finish".  Although I don't know what that actually means, I must say that I'm in LOVE with how it looks! The packaging is oh so nice! *-*

essence Metal Glam Collection
A spankin' new collection by essence!! Yipppeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

From left to right, top to bottom:

  • Eye Shadow ($4.50/4 shades) -- Highly pigmented, metallic-based eyeshadow.
  • Lip Gloss ($3.50/3 shades) -- Shimmery lip gloss for the "metallic effect".
  • Highlighting Powder ($5.35) -- A white hold highlighting power with a soft cream texture (?) and subtle shimmers.
  • Blush ($4.95) -- A cream blush, offers a powdery apricot finish (?)
  • Stick-on Jewels ($3.50/1 style) -- Stick on jewels for the body.
  • Nail Polish ($2.95/4 shades) -- Long-lasting metallic nail lacquers.
  • Gold Topper ($3.50) -- Top coat with gold flakes.
  • Nail Stickers ($3.50/3 styles) -- High-shine metallic nail stickers.
  • Stick On Eyeliner ($3.50/1 style) -- Adhesive stick-on eyeliners. Reusable.............?!

Ahhh, as much as I love seeing new collections by essence, the way they describe their products are just whack. What is a an "apricot finish"? A highlighting powder with a "soft cream texture"? And.. reusable stick-on eyeliners!?!?!?!?

No waaaaaaay.

And that's all for this month! I apologise that this is a late post, but I had a loooooooooot to do!
As per usual, let me know...

How do you like the products this month?
Which ones have you already tried?

I've actually went to purchase the Gold Topper from essence's Metal Glam collection. Nagging my sister to do a NOTD-duo post with me, featuring the lacquer. Hopefully, she'll get to it soon, since I'm done with my part!

Besides that, I also tried to get my hands on the Revlon Matte Balms when they were on BOGOF at Priceline, but the shades I wanted was sold out!!!!! Urgghhhh. Can only cross my fingers and toes that I can find them at the markets. My heart pains paying the full price, haha.

Time for me to get down to my overly-late FOA Screen Siren Collection post.. Please look out for that!

Thank you for reading, and being patient with me!

Wishing you all a lovely weekend!

xx

Priceline 40% OFF Haul

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Priceline had a 40% OFF sale on all cosmetics earlier this week, on Tuesday and Wednesday. Sorry for all who've missed out (hopefully none of you did), but for those who knew of the sale, tell me.. what did you hoard!?

The night before the sale, my sister actually told me it was going to happen tomorrow. I wasn't pumped AT ALL, to be honest. I didn't really look forward to purchasing any more products, nor did I look forward to spend any more money on unnecessities. However, the question still remains:

Did I, or did I not?!

Of course I did! T~T
Besides the title of this post giving it away, if you know me well, then this should come to you with no surprise. Hmph!

Ok... now onto what I bought!

For Priceline's kickass 40% off sales, the first brands I look at are actually essence and Savvy by DB. Mainly, because they rarely have sales, and not to mention that their products are already quite cheap, so a further 40% off will drop their price down to less than a penny............ K, maybe not that less, but still!

Hit up essence, and saw this range of lippies that I've never seen before. Picked up 5 out of the 7-8 shades! They were only $4.10 each (RRP), so they costed around $2.50 per lippy. I don't like their other regular range (packaged in red tube), so I just skipped those.

Yessssssss. Also some of these eyeliners. Pray that they actually will last. Costed around $1.50 per eyeliner only! I went back the next day to check if they have a navy blue colour, but all gone!

Huehue. Nail polishes!! That's What I Mint and The Boy Next Door by essence. Dirt cheap. I actually have a candy blue colour by essence at home already, and it's ALSO named as "The Boy Next Door". Eeeeep. what's going on here?!

Besides that fuss, my sweet mother also showed me this lilac colour (Grape Jelly by Savvy by DB) that "you should get". Sneaky mumma has always loved lilacs, so this one's for her! ^-^

....And of course, I couldn't pass up these Face Of Australia Carnivale Nail Lacquers! I felt kinda bummed when I didn't see them at the FOA stand, but I'm glad I found them on the top shelf, next to the stand! I picked up the remaining four colours that I didn't have from my previous swatch post.

I shall play and swatch them soon! Promise!!

As for now, back to dramas and being a couch potato in this gloomy, rainy Sydney weather! :P
