Instagram post - April 2014

What I have been up to on Instagram in April...

Finally decided to join the gym. Back to my fitness routine.

 Brush cleaning day.

Lancome had contest with Definicils mascara.

Snow in April.

And more snow.

To sum it up...

Treated myself with Tory Burch Miller sandals - ended up being an awful choice. They are terribly uncomfortable and I returned them.

To fix that went to Tory Burch outlet and got two pairs of flip flops. I love them! So soft , lighteweight and comfortable.

I have a feeling I started new addiction with Toms shoes.  My new work shoes.

My daily skincare routine. I am so behind on reviewing skincare items. I keep planning on reviewing all of these and then always something else comes up...

Bought MAC lip conditioner for the third time. Love it for on the go. And a little goes a long way.

End of April and finally first signs of spring

Instagram post

My first Instagram post on the blog. I post daily on my instagram page but I do not know how many of you are actually following me. Even if you are not I will occasionally share some of the photos on the blog too. Enjoy...

Fossil Cecile watch - since I saw it on Fossil instagram page I could not get it out of my head. It is such a beautiful contrast between rose gold and mint color. It was sold out everywhere and I had it on backorder from Nordstrom. I think it will be perfect for summer.

Birthday gift from my love <3

First ever Tory Burch purchase. Randomly ended up at her outlet store and snatched these two. I saw some beautiful wallets, sweaters and some shoes that I liked. I have a feeling I will be going back (yeeeks).

Liquid gold called J'adore. One of the best fragrances on the market. Cult classic. And I love Charlize in this add, she is simply stunning.

Currently using Lancome Energie de vie both for night and day. Love how my skin is finally moisturized enough and feels plumped and has healthy glow. Full review coming up.

Old time favorite. Reminds me of  my college years. It was love at the first smell.

Another birthday gift. I picked it myself. MAC small rectangular bag and 4 MAC brushes.

Layering is the key to longer lasting fragrance. I love using same shower gel and body lotion. Sometimes even without a perfume.

Sneak peak of Lancome Golden riviera summer 2014 collection. I need this bronzer in my life!

Sign on the wall in Ronald McDonald house where I have spent all together 4 months. My home away from home. Never loose hope.

You can tell I am slightly obsessed with L'occitane Almond shower oil. No I did not buy all of these. Two of them I received as a gift with purchase (one small and one big one). Other two big ones I bought for 16$ together! What a steal! Originally they are 38$ each but I found them in the L'occitane outlet 2 for 36$ and I had gift card on top of that. I could not pass a deal like this one.

Swarovski bice pendant is finally mine. I have been looking for it for past 7 years. I am not kidding. I saw it on my wedding day, one of the guests was wearing it. I went immidieatly to buy it , but it was so expensive and I could not afford it at the time. When we came to USA both me and my hubby were trying to buy it, it was discontinued and I even had Swarovski store call their stores and warehouses across the USA to find it, and no one had it.  Recently Swarovski outlet opened close to our home and often we would look around , but never bought anything. Couple of weeks ago hubby wanted to go there again and I told him "What is the point of going to their store when I never buy anything? You are just bothering me every time". But we did go in and the first thing I saw was my long lost love called Bice pendant! I could not believe my eyes I think I screamed out loud! It's finally mine <3 I am really not big on jewelery and don't really care about it but this was one of the rare pieces that I actually wanted so bad.

Slightly different post...

I've had something on my mind for a while... maybe for over a year and I wanted to share my thoughts with you. This is not my usual post where I would review products and post pictures, what you are already used to. I took some freedom and I hope you do not mind but I wanted to write about something that bothers me (a lot).

As you know I like makeup and most of the things beauty related a lot. I like to share my passion and I like to advise others. I am happy when someone takes my advice and ends up being happy with the product they purchased, or their new look etc... Small things like these make me happy. Most of my readers do not know me personally but some do.

I grew up being a tomboy. I never cared about makeup. I only wore mascara, clear lipgloss, concealer (always had dark circles) and a little bit of a white highlighter for the inner corner of my eyes and under the brow. It cannot be much simpler than this.

I got into makeup when I was about 20, adding couple of more products and then when I was 23 I got really sucked in beauty industry both working in it and buying like a maniac.

Anyway back to topic ... Sorry for my little introduction. What bothers me is pressure of having to wear makeup.  And I am not talking about pressure at work. Of course if you work in beauty industry you will hardly ever sell anything if you wear no makeup. It's demanded that you wear (heavy) makeup and I can understand that. First of all you need to sell yourself in order to be able to sell to someone else.

I am talking about pressure from ordinary people both women and men and especially women who don't even wear makeup themselves (???).

I have experienced too often being treated so differently depending on me wearing makeup or not. To me that is shocking. I never treat someone differently if they do not wear makeup that time or ever. It's their own choice.

Past year was extremely hard for my whole family. I spent 4 months away from home, living in the charity house, living in the hospital. I did not care about makeup or how I look. In these kind of a life situations is that abnormal??

I had a situation where I met someone after 7 weeks away from home, I was exhausted barely slept 2-3 hours a day, ate junk and looked like a crap I know I did. Couple of months later I had appointment with the same person and I put makeup on. Very light, simple look. That person walked into the room looked at me and walked out. I heard him whispering that it's the wrong room. I said "Nope it's me you are in the right room". He had this shocked expression on his face and said "Wow I did not recognize you. You look so... different". I said "yes i know I am wearing makeup, and yes I looked like a crap when you saw me last time". "No no I did not mean that.. Now you look just more... relaxed".
I almost laughed out loud, but tried to stay serious.

Again from women that do not wear makeup to work ever when they saw me with makeup on (after seeing me without it) I got compliments and shocked faces and comments how I look so different blah blah...

Many times I was not taken seriously if I am not wearing makeup. I do maybe look younger but the way people take me so seriously when I have makeup on and the way they treat me when I do not is so different that never fails to surprise me.

And if these people would know how much makeup I have at home they would not believe it. Or if I would tell them where I work(ed). That's why I do not most of the time. I do not want to be expected to come with full face every single time. I have bad days, I have hard times in my life, I just get tired of all makeup and I need break...

Sometimes I get sick of being treated the way they do so I get up at 5 am and put full face on! Now let's see how are you going to treat me.

Is it just me and I am taking all this wrong?

I am not talking about taking care of personal hygiene, and being judged about that. I am talking about face color. Makeup should be fun, not pressure.

Thank you for taking time to read my looong rant... Please share your opinion!

Sephora Haul and some birthday GWPs

Time for another haul post...
