The Body Shop Shea sugar body scrub review

The body shop shea scrub is one of my favorites from their line. Actually I adore the whole Shea line and every product is really worth mentioning. Especially if you have dry skin like me. I love how gentle it is but moisturizing, never heavy or greasy but it still gives very good nourishment to the skin. Soon I will write about the other products from the Shea line too. Now let's focus on the Shea sugar scrub.

Ingredient list:

Shea scrub has very creamy and thick texture, that is rough enough to provide very good exfoliation but at the same time it's gentle enough if you have dry or sensitive skin. Usually scrubs that are meant for dry skin are way to gentle or the texture is thin and falls apart in the shower. With TBS Shea scrub this never happens since the texture is so thick. A little goes a long way. Usually it lasts me about two months if I use it once a week. This scrub is perfect combo of sea salts and sugar to provide easy removal of dead skin while shea provides moisturizing. When you rinse it off at first you will notice almost "oily" residue since it's rich in oils but it absorbs super quickly and by the time you towel dry your skin you will not feel any kind of residue on the skin. It leaves skin super soft and silky smooth. If your skin is not really dry you do not even have to follow with any kind of moisturizer - shea in this scrub would be just enough moisturizing. 

Besides the beautiful texture I love Shea scent. So soft and gentle. Probably one of the nicest scents ever created for body line.

The body shop revamped their packaging and to be honest with you I do not like it at all. Before they used to have name of the product on the lid, while now it's only picture with TBS sign. There is small white lettering on the side of the jar which is also very light almost white. You have to look really hard to figure out which product is it.
Another bad thing about packaging change is that products are not sealed any more. Big big minus!! I can't even tell you how often I found body butters with someones finger prints in it. So disgusting.

Great plus for buying TBS items is that they always have deals and sales. Mostly I wait for the 50% off and then I get their Scrubs and butters for 10$ only. That is super great deal for the quality they offer.  Regular price for the scrub is 20$ for the 200ml. They used to have large 300ml jars that once I snatched on sale for 9$.

After exfoliation I always follow with TBS shea butter. These two are great combo for dry skin. Overall I highly recommend this scrub as the best one from TBS line. Please share your thoughts with me if I should try any other scrubs from TBS.

The Body Shop Peppermint foot collection review

I am not really used to reviewing foot products but here is brief review of The body shop Peppermint foot collection. I purchased all these products in a set probably three years ago. I wanted to pamper my hard working tired feet.

Back than TBS was more expensive and they did not offer as many specials and promotions like they do today. I purchased this set for about 38$ which is a lot especially because when it arrived I realized products are not full but smaller size. Sigh... 

The only product I ran out and repurchased recently is Pumice foot scrub. The main reason is I could not find any other on the market and I was shopping for some other TBS stuff so I just added it to my cart for only 5$. 

It is a gel based scrub that is supposed to exfoliate dry and rough skin. It has very weird gel texture that I would rather compare to a jelly rubber. Exfoliating particles are pretty large and it's efficient enough although I would not mind if it's even less gentle. It has strong peppermint scent like all the other products in the range. It is supposed to provide cooling and refreshing feeling for tired feet. I use it in shower about once a week. It does not last me longer than two months. With texture it has a lot goes down the drain. It's hard to get the product out of the jar without it falling everywhere.

Like all the other products in the range Cooling foot lotion is supposed to provide cooling sensation and fight odor (thankfully I have no problem with that but I can see that it can be really helpful who has this kind of a problem). It has very lightweight texture and absorbs very quickly. I liked it even more when I left it in a fridge especially during summer. It enhances cooling effect and helps with tired aching feet. When it comes to hydration or moisture I would say there is barely any, but keep in mind that I have very dry feet. It's nice lotion for everyday use when you need to refresh your feet but not really for moisturizing dry skin. I probably will not repurchase it. I can't even make myself use up this tiny bottle.

Reviving leg gel is my least favorite (or not favorite at all) from this collection. This product I was really looking forward to. I would keep it in my fridge and after long day at work on my feet I wanted something that would sooth and cool my feet. Well it doesn't do any of them, it only leaves sticky gel residue that never absorbs. As you can tell it's just been sitting in my closet not being used. It should probably end up in trash.
Do not recommend it at all.

Product that I did not take separate picture of is Peppermint cooling foot spray. You can see it in the first photo of this post. It's very nice lightweight spray that's great to use as deodorant for your feet. I love using it before wearing sandals. It absobrs quickly, laves no residue. It also helps if your feet sweat a lot. I am running out and I will probably buy it again. It gives nice refreshing feel. 

I am back! My hauls in past two months...

Life has been hard in past two months. Not to go into details, some of you already know what was going on but simply it was my and my family's toughest time. I did some serious retail therapy, please be aware this post will be picture heavy!

The body shop always sucks me in to buy tons of stuff since it's so cheap when on sale. I am excited to try beauty oils. Mango shower gel and foot scrub are re-purchases. 

Lately I have been giving L'occitane a lot of love. Shea body lotion I got on 50% sale! Who doesn't love a good deal? I have been wanting to try Almond scrub since it came out last year, but since it was LE it was sold out fast. I heard some great things about Verbena scrub and I have been eyeing it also for a while. I was waiting to ran out of scrub I had. Also I got nice GWP - cosmetic bag, Verbena mini shower gel and body lotion as well as verbena cooling hand gel (not pictured) and verbena roll on perfume (not pictured).

And how could I ever resist good deal with Lancome? I planned to get Juicy tubes in Raspberry ice for a while, and as soon as I saw they offer free shipping and two free samples - Bienfait day and night cream I went ahead and ordered it. How generous is this? I love how Lancome treats and spoils their customers. Absolutely the best customer service in the industry.

New addition to Lancome line finally in the US! Energie de vie face cream and lotion. I think it's currently exclusive to Sephora where I purchased it.

I love layering fragrance and I was so glad to snatch this Chloe shower gel. Mini body lotion and edp were GWP.

My favorite MAC items - Mineralize skin finishes. L-R : Adored, Soft and gentle , Porcelain pink. This is my second Soft and gentle. First one I had for over 4 years and it's still one of my top 5 MAC items. I haven't got pigments in years since I realized I never use them. Yes they are messy and colors I got a while ago are so dark and crazy and I do not know what to combine them with. So this time I chose Vanilla - cult classic and Naked - simple and wearable shades.

And completely unplanned purchase... Kerastase shampoo. I just had very bad day and got this as soon as I saw it at Nordstrom rack. Hopefully I like it (especially for the price).

I want to thank my readers who reached to me asking what is going with the blog, is everything ok... etc. It is really appreciated and hopefully life has some good things in future for me and my family.

I am so happy I am back to blogging, I really missed it!
