This is my second time having Urban Decay Supercurling mascara. Honestly there is nothing super about it but it's name. It has an idea of curled brush that helps curl lashes without a curler and the formula that helps them stay curl during the day.
Formula is thin, watery and has a nice glossy black finish. It is buildable meaning it does not dry fast and does not make lashes hard and stiff so you can layer it. I had to apply about three coats to have any noticeable mascara on my lashes. This is ok if you like natural look, something very soft. I do not as you already very well know. I like dark dramatic thick and long lashes. Mine are naturally poor, flat and without volume. So I need a lot of help.  Before I applied Supercurl mascara I even curled my lashes with a curler. Did not really help. I applied as I said three coats and still they looked poor. Just with some black color on it, that's the only difference.
Brush has a good size and bristles are soft. This might be good topper mascara after some other one that clumps, this could comb trough the lashes and get the excess off.
It wasn't easy to take it off either. I had hard time getting those little dots after application that I usually have all around my eyes, I had to rub rub rub with a q tip to get it off.

This product is one major fail for me. Save your money there are so many much better mascaras on the market.

Urban Decay Supercurl Curling mascara retails for 20$.

Chanel Le Volume de Chanel mascara review

  • The high-precision mascara achieves instant volume and intensely lush color in a single stroke. Its innovative formula expands, plumping lashes to their fullest. The exclusive new Snowflakes brush combines long and short bristles to deliver an extreme, eye-opening effect.

Le volume de Chanel is only the second mascara I've tried from Chanel. The other one is Inimitable intense which is decent mascara for a natural day look, nothing dramatic. Also I found that Inimitable intense works great over some other mascara as a last coat. Brush is great to get rid of clumps.

Chanel is not really famous for great mascaras. They really needed to step up because there are some great mascaras from other brands in luxury department. Chanel made mascara that is supposed to give voluminous, dramatic look.
I received two of these samples and I love these little ones because I can have enough time to try out mascara before buying it. Mascara is probably the trickiest one to try at the counter/ beauty store. I do not recommend doing it, it's really not hygienic. You can always try to get sample of foundation, primer, anything liquid with a pump or in a tube, bad mascara you need little one to try at home at least couple of times to see if it works for you or not.

Le volume de Chanel at first did not work for me. Formula is very wet, there is tons of it on the brush and it clumps like crazy. It takes couple of uses for formula to dry out a little bit. I had the same issue with YSL effet faux cils shocking mascara. Brush I am not really crazy about. I do not mind brushes like this one but bristles are way to short.  So I kept trying to make this work for me and it did! I still I am not crazy about formula or the brush but somehow it makes my lashes crazy thick with a lot of volume. Color is extremely deep dark black - love it. Does not smudge both on bottom or top lashes nor it flakes - for me that's a huge plus. Who likes to see surprise panda eyes? When it comes to removing I had no problem taking it off with Lancome Bifacil. With Bobbi brown eye makeup remover I did struggle to take this off. In the morning I would realize I still have black line around my eyes. So definitely you need good eye makeup remover to take this one off. I really do not have experience with waterproof mascaras to compare it to.
I curled my eyelashes before application but not after which I usually do. I think it doesn't way lashes down too much.

I do not think this is mascara for those who want length and separation. Since it clumps (more or less, mostly more) you need nice old mascara brush to go through your lashes and get rid of excess.  Nor it's a good choice for those who want natural look.

I can't speak if it's good for someone with sensitive eyes or contact wearers since my eyes are not sensitive and I've never had problem with any mascara (and do not wear contacts).

I think Chanel nailed it with this mascara! It is pricey but it's close to any other HE mascara (Lancome, YSL, Dior....). I have two of the mini ones which is close (or same) amount that full size has. I am really excited about this one and would gladly buy the full size (if I did not have three other mascaras waiting). But eventually if nothing else better shows up on market I am planning on buying it.  Three best mascaras I've tried so far are Lancome Hypnose, YSL Efc shocking and Le volume de Chanel.

Yves Saint Laurent Volume Effet Faux Cils Shocking Mascara

Exaggerate your lashes with shocking volume from every angle!  New and exclusive to YSL, the amplified helix brush with a twisted cut, provides instant excess volume on the lashes, with effortless application. Shaped and styled for excess, this slim brush breaks the rules of volume, allowing for perfect control and precision, combined with a beautifully creamy formula to cover each lash evenly, for a thick and lustrous fringe.

When I received sample of YSL shocking mascara I was so excited to try it and be able to compare it to legendary YSL Effet faux cils mascara that I already reviewed here.

When it comes to volume it gives much more volume than original YSL EFC. One coat of Shocking gives more volume than two coats of original EFC.

What I really liked is that Shocking is deeper darker black. Very glossy black.

Formula is runny, watery and not as thick and waxy as original Effet faux cils. Because of it's texture it clumps a lot! It is very hard to build volume and add coats -almost impossible because it's clumpy after one coat. I had to use clean mascara wand to comb trough and get the access off.
But after that I liked how it looked. Still had volume without clumps.

When it comes to curl it's good. Does not way lashes down. I curled them before applying mascara.

My issue was that when I was using clear mascara wand to get the access off it was flaking pretty bad. But after that I had no more flakes during the day. Did not smudge at all.

Formula might dry a bit after some time which would make it easier for application.

Overall I like Shocking better than original Effet faux cils. It is more dramatic, darker black and gives more volume. Original was more daytime natural look mascara.

I wish Shocking would come with same brush as original EFC but with it's darker glossier and not so waxy formula. That would be perfect mascara.
