As I already wrote I've had dry hands since I can remember. Tried everything. Nothing helped or helped a little bit. I've heard so many things about L'occitane shea butter hand cream but I was so cheap and refused to pay so much $$$ for it. Until one super cold winter day in Chicago when I had a chance to try it at my friends. OMG! How could I live without this product?  I was so stupid please forgive me L'occitane. That was three years ago. Since then I always have at least one tube at home and use it daily.  It is pricey for a hand cream but amount you are getting plus the texture which is VERY thick and concentrated you need so little. One tube lasts me from 6-8 months.  Smell is one of the most beautiful I've ever smelled in cosmetic product. I wish every skincare item smells like this. Soft and soothing, nothing overwhelming. 

I usually use it only before going to bad, but depending on how often I was my hands, if I clean around the house, use hand sanitizer, use nail polish remover and how terribly cold and windy it gets and how dry air can be inside I try to use it at least once during the day too.

It's hard reviewing a hand cream. I can talk about the smell, I can talk about the texture, packaging... but you really need to try this yourself to really see how amazing it is. 

This product goes in the "life changing" category.

Since I was so impressed with the hand cream I naturally wanted to try the Foot one too. I also very dry skin on my feet and need something extra. So far I haven't found foot cream that's moisturizing enough. Unfortunately this one isn't either. I had really high hopes for it. First of all I am not big fan of the scent. I wish it was the same as hand cream. It is similar but since some essential oils were added it's more minty. Texture is much thinner and slightly runny. Not hydrating enough. If you have normal skin you will love this. It absorbs quickly, so you can use it not just at night time. I like to massage it in before bedtime and also during the day especially during open toe season when  feet have to look their best.

It also has slightly cooling and refreshing sensation that I appreciate especially if I spend many hours during the day on my feet.

Will I repurchase? I do not think so. I wish I could find thick moisturizing foot balm that I could apply only once a day and be happy with the results.

Dior Crème Abricot Fortifying Cream For Nails

What it is:

A rich, creamy salve that nourishes and conditions cuticles.

What it does:

Created in 1963, Dior's "Cult-favorite Magic Multi-tasker" is the key to truly terrific nails. This creamy salve encourages nail growth, improves nail strength, and conditions cuticles. It can be massaged into the base of nail pre- or post- polish.

Suggested Usage:

-Apply a small amount at the base of each nail in the evening (can be used over polish).

-Massage into the nail and cuticle using circular movements.

-Allow to penetrate overnight.

I've had dry hands since I can remember. Not dry, SUPER dry. Raising a baby requires  washing hands often , all the chores around the house (even if you wear gloves), and on top of that just add terrible Chicago winters with freezing temperatures, strong winds and indoor heating - even if you naturally do not have dry hands  you are stet up for a dry hand/cuticles disaster.

I am glad that I did find amazing hand cream that really helps me - L'occitane shea butter hand cream but it's not enough for me cuticles who need serious help.

I have no idea why I've never before tried Creme abricot. I assume it's because of the price?  Anyway I was convinced by Malo prase that I need this and that I will love it. I have to listen to her, just look at her nails! What a perfection!

Amazing thing about Creme Abricot is that it's been around 1963!! That's not seen often in beauty industry and certainly means there is some serious quality behind the product.

I apply it nightly on my cuticles and as you we'll see in the photos below I apply a lot :) No spearing here. It takes a while to soak in, but I do not mind. Definitely it't not a product you'll use before you need to get dressed or running to work. It really does miracles and helps my skin around the nails look decent. Although results are temporary if I do not use it every single day or sometimes twice a day. As soon as I skip one day I am back to old dry cracked cuticles.

Texture is very thick and little goes a long way. It feels super sticky, goopy and sticks to your skin like crazy. Pot looks small but since you need such a tiny amount I am sure this will last a looooong time. Smell is wonderful too, sweet but not overwhelming.

Overall I am really grateful that I was introduced to this product. It does miracles for me. I can't complain about anything except that it requires everyday use or I am back to dry cuticles. I wish results are not just instant but prolonged. I do have days when I forget, or for some reason I am not able to apply it and would like my cuticles to look good even then. 

I can't do much about Chicago weather, all the hand washing, cleaning, cooking... but I can try to help my hands look their best.

 I will make sure I am not without it unless more effective product shows up on the market. J'adore Creme Abricot!

L'occitane Shea Butter One Minute Hand Scrub review

The One Minute Hand Scrub has been specially formulated to reveal incredibly soft hands in only one minute. Organic sugars and shea oil work together to gently exfoliate dry hands and cuticles. 

Its bi-phase formula contains exfoliating organic sugar to gently scrub and eliminate dead skin cells and shea, sweet almond and grapeseed oils to help soften and nourish hands. Pair with Shea Butter Hand Cream.

After discovering and absolutely falling in love with L'occitane shea hand cream (will review soon) I was very curious to try another product for hands from their Shea line.

As it says on the box it's meant for "dry or damaged hands" - hello I can recognize my poor hands in this statement. I wash my hands very often and living in Chicago with harsh winters and strong winds does not help either. I've had dry hands since I can remember so it's nothing new for me trying to pamper them as much as I can.

Scrub comes in round plastic jar and also includes spatula to mix two phases together. This is very nice touch from L'occitane - it keeps using this product more hygienic and also lessens the mess while applying the scrub.

In the photo below you can actually see two phases. One is brown sugar that does the exfoliation - and it's pretty rough and other is shea oil that nourishes the skin. Mixing them together you get texture that while exfoliating also leaves skin moisturized and super soft. There is slight oil residue but nothing that will interfere in daily activities - so you don't have to use it only before going to bed. It takes about 5 -10 minutes for the oily to be fully absorbed.

It has exactly the same scent as their Shea hand cream which I love. It's one of the nicest scents I've smelled in cosmetic product.

Product comes with a protective foil but once it's removed there is a warning on the package not to travel  with it or carry it around - to protect the product from the accidental spills.

In the photo below you can see the amount of product that's needed for one hand. I used two, or maybe one and a half spatulas for both. Make sure to stir two phases really good before using it.

You can see product applied on skin. Since there is oily part it's pretty runny so I suggest being careful not to make mess around you (like I did with dripping oil while trying to take photos :)  )

Scrub is supposed to be applied on dry hands and massage it gently for about a minute. It feels so good and soothing that I wanted to do it even longer. At the end I just rinsed it with warm water and gently pated with towel. My hands looked brighter, skin was smoother, softer , simply glowing. I especially focused on and around my cuticles that are always very dry.  I did not have to use hand cream after this because oil took care of leaving my skin moisturized. 

Product retails for 22$ and has 3.4 oz / 100ml and that was a little bit concerning for me - I was thinking it's too small. But I was wrong. It takes small amount and I think this will last me a while. 

L'occitane suggest using this on feet too. Hmmm not so sure about it considering price / size. 

Overall : Great addition to L'occitane shea hand cream in my hand care regimen. Absolutely lovely product and honestly I can't find not one bad thing to say about it (and that does not happen often).
