Too Faced Primed & Poreless Skin Smoothing Face Primer Review

What It Is:
Our one-of-a-kind makeup primer was scientifically formulated to wear under bronzers and foundation powders or alone to achieve the look of flawless skin without makeup. Vitamins A & C, Mulberry Extract and a powerful dose of Retinol virtually banish pores while tired skin is left hydrated, firmer, and detoxified. Primed & Poreless creates the perfect canvas to allow powders, bronzers and foundations to airbrush onto the skin seamlessly and perfectly blended. Skin appears brighter, fresher and younger. Color stays true and in place all day.

More To Love:
  • Erase Pores & Imperfections: Virtually erases pores, softens lines and perfects your complexion leaving skin ready for bronzer, powder, makeup or nothing at all.
  • Customized Formula: Provides an airbrushed canvas as it preps skin for bronzers, powder products and liquid foundations. Bronzers glide on without grabbing or looking heavy. Powders float above imperfections. Makeup applies like magic onto skin. Color stays true and in place all day.
  • Mulberry Extract & Arctostaphylos UVA URSI: Protect, brighten and lighten skin for a renewed freshness and soothing effect.
  • Retinyl Palmitate & Cyclodextrin with CAVAMAX Retinol: Restores moisture, elasticity and suppleness with a powerful combination of anti-wrinkle, youth enhancing, skincare ingredients.
  • Camellia Oil & Vitamin A: Essence of the white tea plant and the free radical fighting vitamins are nature’s most powerful antioxidants. Skin looks firmer, brighter and more resilient, even up close.
  • Colorless: Great on any skin color! The nude tone becomes invisible once applied.

*Vegan-friendly
*Paraben-free

I have tried Primed&Poreless a while ago as soon as it was released. It was great addition to Too faced line and one of the best selling primers at the moment.

It does really good job in instantly filling in pores and smoothing superficial wrinkles thanks to formula loaded in silicone. I know a lot of consumers out there try to avoid silicone but it's the only and main ingredient that actually visually smooths the skin and preps it for other face products. Lately there have been a lot of newly released primers without silicone that are great and hold makeup on longer but they do not make skin as smooth as the ones with silicone. So if you are lucky and don't have skin sensitive to it or you do not brake out, I suggest getting primer with silicone.

Texture is really tick and you need a pea size for the whole face. This primer is advertised that it can be worn  before foundation or before bronzer. What sets it apart from other primers is that it has slight tint to it, it's not completely clear. It has light beige color but when you apply it honestly it just blends into your skin color. Does not stand out nor it gives any coverage. I would say it just slightly evens out your skin's color and texture. I am not sure how it would perform on darker skin tones because it might appear ashy.
Even though texture is thick it dries fast into matte finish. I think it would work for any skin type but do not expect any crazy matte oil absorbing action.

My experience is that it works great with wide range of liquid and powder foundation as well with tinted moisturizers or just on it's own with light powder dusting on top. It does create perfect canvas. Does not require any tools or special application. I always apply it with my fingers. Make sure not to overdo it, less is more and blend fast before it dries.

Too faced claims a lot on the skincare part that honestly I can say anything about that because I have never worn it on daily basis. I have been switching between primers. And I  never rely on skin improving promises from the makeup products.

Another plus is that it does not have strong scent or barely any, so if you are sensitive and can't use highly fragranced products Primed and Poreless would be a good choice for you.

Price is decent too, I would say mid range. You get 1 oz for 30$. Not bad but for the same amount of money you can get 1.7 oz in Laura Mercier primer (although completely different texture).

I wanted to show you the actual color of primer right out of the tube, lightly blended and completely blended on skin.

Overall : I think Too faced did really good job with Primed and Poreless. Great addition to their line, could be staple in makeup kit of any Too faced fan.

Naked Eye palette from Too faced never caught my attention  I was never into cool or neutral toned nudes. I would always lean towards warm tone colors on my eyes. One day I was swatching it and a colleague makeup artist said it would look amazing on me which really surprised me. After this she actually gave me this palette as a gift! I was so happy because as almost all the other Too faced palettes you really need to see them on your eyes before you make any judgment! I love it for every day nude barely there makeup look. Obviously you can take it to the more night out look by using darkest shades and dark eyeliner. In this palette I use all three combinations eaqually which barely ever happens with any eyeshadow palette. Usually there is always one shade or one combination that I do not like and do not use but still end up getting the palette for the rest of the shades.

Naked eye would look great on cool and neutral toned skins , especially on ladies with light to medium skin. I can see this complimenting blue eyes more than any other eye color.

Also it is fool proof application and color combination wise. Office and work friendly. I have the old bulky packaging but newer ones are thinner and more portable and purse/travel friendly. I showed the difference in old vs new palette sizes here.

Palette has 9 colors divided into three looks : Day, Classic and Fashion (as the rest of the palettes).

In The Buff (matte ivory) - very light ivory almost white when applied on skin. On a sheer side but looks good as all over base color or matte highlight on a brow bone
Pillow Talk (light taupe sheen) - sheer wash of color for all over the lid. Light enough for daytime. I like using it all over the lid over In the buff. For lighter option these two can be combined without the darkest shade.
Like A Virgin (matte taupe) - Beautiful pigmented matte taupe. I use it on the outer V and into the crease combined with In the buff and Pillow talk. Gives enough pop of a color without looking too dark or too overdone for daytime. One of the nicest shades in the palette.

Birthday Suit (beige shimmer) -The most pigmented of the three lightest shades. I use it all over the lid.
Satin Sheets (golden champagne shimmer) - Slightly on a sheer side but love to use it only in the middle of the lid to give some color with a shine. To me this is light pink with a golden shimmer. Very interesting color.
Unmentionables (steel gray shimmer) - Classic grey to add more of a smokey eye look

Pink Cheeks (pale pink) - The least pigmented of the three lightest shades. Very sheer with a silver shimmer. Nicely preps the lid for the taupe shade. Might be used all over with a little bit of a liner for daytime.
Lap Dance (silvery taupe shimmer) - very pigmented shimmery taupe. I use it all over the lid with Stilleto in the outer V. These two can create nice smokey eye for more dramatic look.
Stiletto (matte black) - extremely pigmented dark black and super creamy. Can be used instead of eyeliner too.

I've already reviewed Smokey eyeshadow collection , Natural eye collection and Boudoir eyes where I wrote more about shadow texture, pigmentation, staying power, packaging etc... So I wouldn't like to repeat myself  and I'll go straight to colors in this palette.

Romantic eyeshadow collection has 9 shadows separated into three looks:

Day:
Soulmates - pale peach shimmer - this is my favorite shadow in the collection. It is beautiful even on it's own, under other eyeshadows or as a highlight. I would buy it if it's sold just as mono eyeshadow, that's how much  I like it
I do- matte taupe. It's nice and pigmented all over shade. Leans grayish
Un-veil - matte soft black. It's very soft, I would not even call it black. It's more of a dark grey leaning to black.

Love this day look. I wear it often and get so many compliments on it. It's super easy and fast. Interesting thing about it that depending on the light it looks gray or purple.  And if you look at the color description neither purple or gray are mentioned! LOL

Classic:
Kiss the bride - matte pale pink. Great as a base for other shadows
Cut the cake- lavender mauve shimmer. Interesting shimmery shade between gray mauve and purple. Looks great combined with matte shadows
First dance- matte deep purple. Pigmented and great for outer V and combined with shimmery shades.

This one is nice combination of shimmery and matte shades. Great if you like cooler toned looks. Can be worn day and night depending on how heavy you go with First dance shade.

Fashion:
Bouquet toss - matte pale yellow ivory
Honeymoon-burnished gold shimmer
Ever after - bronze shimmer

(this is the only combination that I have to admit I've never tried ooops :) )

I remember when this collection was launched I swatched it and my only impression was meh... but I was wrong because it looks so much better on eyes than just swatched on hands. Give this palette a chance it might surprise you how it gives great and effortless looks.

Too Faced Smokey Eye shadow collection

What It Is:
Nine smoldering shadows ranging from mattes to shimmers add modern eye drama. Includes three easy-to follow Glamour Guides.

More To Love:
  • Smokin’ Hot Effect: A collection of nine, complimentary shades are the perfect palette of wearable, smoky eye options for day to night, and every memorable moment in between.
  • Fired-Up Formulas: Pigment-rich, high-performing shadows offer an essential range of hues and textures from velvety mattes to silky shimmers.
  • Glamour Guides: Our signature, how-to lesson cards offer step-by-step application instructions for creating smoky eyes in minutes.

Smokey eye palette comes with nine shades separated into three suggested looks:

Day look that includes a silvery taupe satin shimmer, a bronzey brown satin shimmer and a black brown with a hint of shimmer

Classic look that includes a sugar white satin shimmer, a charcoal satin shimmer and a matte black.

Fashion look that includes a silvery satin shimmer, a black plum satin shimmer and a matte navy.

Day look is my favorite combination in this palette. It is very wearable, shadows are smooth silky and very pigmented.

Classic looks gives simple gray black smokey eye. Fool proof. It is pretty intense and great choice for night time.

The only one I have not tried yet is Fashion look. I am kind of scared of shadows that have blue in it - most of the time with them I look like I have black eye.

This Smokey eye palette is revamped version of their original Smokey eye palette. Shadows are more pigmented easier to blend and colors are more wearable. I have no problem with blending, or staying power. No fall outs , fading or smudging. Great job Too faced!

Again palette comes with three how to card for easier application.

Look I did long time ago with three top shades (DAY)

Classic look using Too Faced Natural eye palette

For the "Classic look" as they call it in this Too faced palette I used:

Urban Decay primer potion Sin
Silk teddy eyeshadow - inner corner and brow bone
Push up eyeshadow - all over the lid
Erotica eyeshadow - outer corner and crease
MAC fluidline in Blitz&Glitz
Loreal voluminous million lashes mascara
MAC Studio finish concealer
Smashbox brow tech Taupe

This was very easy and quick look. Without an eyeliner it would probably take 5 minutes.

Day Look using Too Faced Natural eye palette

I used for this look:
