Too Faced Primed & Poreless Skin Smoothing Face Primer Review

What It Is:
Our one-of-a-kind makeup primer was scientifically formulated to wear under bronzers and foundation powders or alone to achieve the look of flawless skin without makeup. Vitamins A & C, Mulberry Extract and a powerful dose of Retinol virtually banish pores while tired skin is left hydrated, firmer, and detoxified. Primed & Poreless creates the perfect canvas to allow powders, bronzers and foundations to airbrush onto the skin seamlessly and perfectly blended. Skin appears brighter, fresher and younger. Color stays true and in place all day.

More To Love:
  • Erase Pores & Imperfections: Virtually erases pores, softens lines and perfects your complexion leaving skin ready for bronzer, powder, makeup or nothing at all.
  • Customized Formula: Provides an airbrushed canvas as it preps skin for bronzers, powder products and liquid foundations. Bronzers glide on without grabbing or looking heavy. Powders float above imperfections. Makeup applies like magic onto skin. Color stays true and in place all day.
  • Mulberry Extract & Arctostaphylos UVA URSI: Protect, brighten and lighten skin for a renewed freshness and soothing effect.
  • Retinyl Palmitate & Cyclodextrin with CAVAMAX Retinol: Restores moisture, elasticity and suppleness with a powerful combination of anti-wrinkle, youth enhancing, skincare ingredients.
  • Camellia Oil & Vitamin A: Essence of the white tea plant and the free radical fighting vitamins are nature’s most powerful antioxidants. Skin looks firmer, brighter and more resilient, even up close.
  • Colorless: Great on any skin color! The nude tone becomes invisible once applied.

I have tried Primed&Poreless a while ago as soon as it was released. It was great addition to Too faced line and one of the best selling primers at the moment.

It does really good job in instantly filling in pores and smoothing superficial wrinkles thanks to formula loaded in silicone. I know a lot of consumers out there try to avoid silicone but it's the only and main ingredient that actually visually smooths the skin and preps it for other face products. Lately there have been a lot of newly released primers without silicone that are great and hold makeup on longer but they do not make skin as smooth as the ones with silicone. So if you are lucky and don't have skin sensitive to it or you do not brake out, I suggest getting primer with silicone.

Texture is really tick and you need a pea size for the whole face. This primer is advertised that it can be worn  before foundation or before bronzer. What sets it apart from other primers is that it has slight tint to it, it's not completely clear. It has light beige color but when you apply it honestly it just blends into your skin color. Does not stand out nor it gives any coverage. I would say it just slightly evens out your skin's color and texture. I am not sure how it would perform on darker skin tones because it might appear ashy.
Even though texture is thick it dries fast into matte finish. I think it would work for any skin type but do not expect any crazy matte oil absorbing action.

My experience is that it works great with wide range of liquid and powder foundation as well with tinted moisturizers or just on it's own with light powder dusting on top. It does create perfect canvas. Does not require any tools or special application. I always apply it with my fingers. Make sure not to overdo it, less is more and blend fast before it dries.

Too faced claims a lot on the skincare part that honestly I can say anything about that because I have never worn it on daily basis. I have been switching between primers. And I  never rely on skin improving promises from the makeup products.

Another plus is that it does not have strong scent or barely any, so if you are sensitive and can't use highly fragranced products Primed and Poreless would be a good choice for you.

Price is decent too, I would say mid range. You get 1 oz for 30$. Not bad but for the same amount of money you can get 1.7 oz in Laura Mercier primer (although completely different texture).

I wanted to show you the actual color of primer right out of the tube, lightly blended and completely blended on skin.

Overall : I think Too faced did really good job with Primed and Poreless. Great addition to their line, could be staple in makeup kit of any Too faced fan.
