NARS Lipsticks - Pago Pago, Belle de Jour, Little Darling and Mayflower

When I started my "love affair" with NARS I was not particularly interested in their lipsticks. I was big on MAC lipsticks and main reason why I avoided NARS' is price tag. They are 10$ more than MAC lipsticks.
But couple of the colors really caught my eye.

NARS lipsticks come in a square black rubber packaging (and yes it gets messy easily). Each lipstick has 3.4gr. They retail for 24$

NARS has lipsticks with three finishes:

Sheer - A beautifully sheer formula infused with ingredients to improve the condition of the lips. Sheer, long lasting color pigments have been suspended in this tranlucent formula to provide a sophisticated shine.
Satin - A lustrous, long-wearing lipstick infused with conditioners to provide comfortable wear and sumptuously, silky color.
Semi matte - A modern semi-matte lipstick that provides full-bodied, velvety color in a highly pigmented and non-drying formula.

All 4 lipsticks of mine have sheer finish. I prefer that kind of a finish with any lipstick, not just NARS.

Belle de jour is described as sheer beige. I would agree but it has a plenty of peach added to it. It is not easy color to pull off, especially for pigmented lips and darker skin tones. Texture is a little drier and it will enhance imperfections or dryness of your lips.

Little Darling was limited edition color in holiday 2010 collection. I noticed it when my college was wearing it -and she is not a "nude lip" girl at all. It is so neutral,  really cool toned nude that as soon as I bought it I had to get back up too! Very easy to pull off. Texture is soft and color is sheer. Too bad this in not part of the permanent line. I think it would work great on cool skin tones as well as on anyone who does not want "corps lips".

Pago Pago is described as a shimmering pink. It does have subtle silver shimmer but it is not noticeable on the lips. This is your everyday fool proof color. It goes with everything and I love how even thought has shimmer does not dry out lips or it is not sparkly when applied. Very lady-like. It was released with Fall 2011 collection and added to a permanent line.

Mayflower is described as a sheer shimmering raspberry. It is MLBB color! Just stunning! It adds color but it is very subtle. It would look great as a summer lipstick. Also great choice if you want something that's on a pinkish-reddish side but you are too scared of a bright lip. It was released with Summer 2011 collection and yes it is part of the permanent line woohoo! No need to back up right away :) In the tube shimmer looks huge , more of a chunky glitter but on lips it blends in and you can barely notice it.
